Being that it’s far too late to wish a happy new year, instead, happy middle of the week and mid-spring message!

While it’s rainy and overcast and we are all stuck inside waiting for the warm weather, we thought we would make what I hoped would be a small update for our website just to get everypawdy on the same page. It’s more likely, as the title suggests, that this will be a longer text-heavy blog – but I will try to keep things concise, since it’s been a while since we checked in!

“The big thing,” in case you haven’t seen our recent posts on social media, refers to Pawsitive Petcare HQ (eg, our house) being sold in a very Toronto-like fashion. During this transitional time, we had put a stop to our boarding services; as things have progressed, we are now making some 

 changes going forward.

Most important to note is that Pawsitive Petcare weekly dog-walking services will resume through this ongoing period; our clients are, and remain, our top priority. 



BOARDING – the 60 Day Safe Zone & Cat Sitting



At this point in the process, we have opted to open boarding back up 

That means, within 60 days from the current date, we can once again offer our pawsitive sleepover and daycare services!

In the interim, we are also offering in-home boarding, as well as boarding with Carmen on Oakwood for future dates or overlapping dates that may fall outside of our 60-day window.

Please feel free to message us anytime to discuss upcoming service and schedule needs.

Cat sitting requests will follow our new boarding request protocol 60-day window.

After a very busy 2023 leading into a continued fast-paced four paw adventure for 2024, Dan and I have decided to consolidate our booking method to one e-mail address. This will help us streamline our service requests, assuring that all confirmed dates make it to the schedule, and not to the darkest recesses of Kris's brain.

Schedules should be sent by Sunday for the following Monday - Friday period. If you are on a fixed weekly schedule, our new booking e-mail can be used for any upcoming changes to schedule, cancellations, or alternate requests.

Invoicing and general correspondence will continue as usual through our home e-mail, pawsitivepetcareTO@gmail.com

As always, please feel free to reach out to chat through text, WhatsApp, or IG to discuss availability, scheduling and potential dates needed. Once your dates are confirmed, please send them to 

Our new booking e-mail will also negate the necessity of a scheduling APP, since we all need more room on our phones for dog and cat pics, and text-message requests often get buried in the oncoming photoshoots.

You may have noticed a few new paws in the pack – this is because we have slowly been going through our growing waitlist to alleviate who we can, where we can. Although our waitlist is now 

, we have welcomed a handful of new walkers, and 

currently have some weekly available for the following dates and times:

: 10AM-11AM, 1PM-2:30PM, and 3:15PM – 5PM

*If you are currently on our waitlist and have not been contacted, this is due to your previously indicated schedule needs. Please feel free to message us at any time if your scheduling needs have changed, and any of the above dates/times work for you.

As a result of the ongoing HQ transition, our sister-business 

 nail trim clinic provider has been placed on a temporary hiatus.

We are not currently taking new nail trim clients.

If you are a previous client requiring a nail-trim for your pet, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate you during this time.

Once again, summer is impending, meaning the wet season is upon us!

Please feel free to leave your pets’ towel by the front door and we will make sure to wipe down all wet/muddy paws.

As the days become warmer, hour-long walks will resume before heat-wave season arrives. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you would like to extend (or reduce) your walk-time, or if your preferred hours have changed.

Walk time may be cut during heavy rain, inclement weather, or air-quality related alerts.

As always, we can’t thank our client’s and walk-crews enough. Pawsitive Petcare has grown into a thriving community of caring pet pawrents, pets and walkers, and we are grateful for every moment we are able to hit the street and do what we love. We look forward to continuing in our fifth year (yes, fifth year!) of business (RIP2019/2020, what a start that was) and growing alongside some of our very best furrends.

A Text-Heavy, Very Late 2024 Blog

Wow, everyone; it isn’t even December yet and already, we can’t thank you enough for such a wonderful, enriching and pawsitive year!

We have had the great fortune of meeting and making so many new friends this year; so many, in fact, that this September we sadly have to close our 

DOG WALKING, DOG BOARDING and DOG DAYCARE

 requests for the time being, now operating on a waitlist. To wait list your dog for our dog walking, boarding or daycare services, feel free to navigate to the contact option on our webpage, or e-mail us at pawsitivepetcareTO@gmail.com.

This November, Pawsitive Petcare will be closed for boarding!

 In preparation of the busy winter season, we want to make sure we are absolutely prepared to accommodate your pets with the best and coziest set-up pawssible; as such, we will be taking November to regroup and rest before our often-busiest booking season. To schedule your December boarding dates, please message via our contact option on our website, e-mail, or text Kris to coordinate.

This year during December we will have Carmen on deck for additional board requests! We look forward to all our seasonal sleepovers during holiday vacations and away dates.

There is about a week of summer left and we are heading into fall with a bang; our friends at neighbourhood pet-friendly coffee spot Kafe Dáki have offered to host our next event! This

, SCW Pets will be running a pet-friendly pop-up event at our local pet-friendly café!

Come by for local pet friendly activities including pet portrait painting, pet and family selfie zone, ten-minute Ttouch training one on ones, item sales and pet friendly raffles, special deals and giveaways, fantastic coffee and snacks at the café, and of course, our walk-in or scheduled nail trims!

We’ve been having a blast with boarding and kitty-sitting this season; thank you for having us watch all your four-legged family while summer vacations and away trips are in progress! We’re always happy to host and hang out with all our canine and feline pals.




A few things you may have noticed as the days grow longer and hotter; we have reopened our service requests for pee break, half hour and full hour walks! For a short while we had our hands full (of leashes), but some spots have opened up in our availability and we are now able to accommodate a few more paws in the pack.

If you are looking for pee breaks or full walks, and you have a dog-friendly pup who may enjoy the benefits of some weekly or evening excursions feel free to reach out to us via the contact tab on our website. We will get back to you as soon as possible!

Event Reschedule – Nail Spaw, Pool Pawty, and Pawrent Mixer

Our ill-fated June nail spaw and pool pawty has been rescheduled for AUGUST 12, 2023; Pawsitive Pet pawrents (and others!) are welcome to visit us 12PM-4PM on Saturday, August 12 for nail trim clinic, puppy cool down zone, treats and donation tables, as well as our combined pawrent mixer and free summer photos! New Pawsitive Walker & Sitter! Welcome Stefanie

This month we are excited to welcome Stefanie into the Pawsitive Petcare team!

Stef will be joining us as walk and kitty sitting coverage for Kris and Dan away dates and sick days. Stef has experience with dogs of all sizes and ages as well as cats, and has experience as a pet product specialist! We hope you get a chance to meet Stef in the coming weeks as we continue training for our next away dates. It’s our hope that with a stronger on-call team, we can continue to offer great service even in our absence, and cut back on any emergency stops to service due to illness, etc!



Speaking of upcoming away dates, our final summer away dates will be August 1st to August 6th as Dan and I head up to Manitoulin to see my northern family; during this time, we are happy to accommodate walk schedules as best as possible. Please feel free to reach out if you require coverage during this time, and we will do our very best to make sure that your walks are accommodated! * August 1-6 weekdays run Tuesday through Friday. We are available Monday, July 31st *



As the hot days roll on, you may notice walks are still shortened from 60min to 30min, and in some cases, from 30min to 15min. We try our best to keep our dogs moving, but health and safety always come first – on hotter days, walks will continue to be shortened likely through the first or second week of September. Our monthly nail spas brought to you by our new venture title “St Clair West Pets” (@SCWPets on Instagram) have begun booking.



St Clair West Pets is the combined effort of Kris from Pawsitive Petcare, Shannie from the Doggos Grooming and Board, and Carmen, our resident TTouch Holistic Training Practitioner. We provide monthly nail spas to dogs, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs, which often include free photo shoots and small item sale toward local rescues and animal shelters!

INTRODUCING: FIRST EVER PARENT MIXER APRIL 30th

This has been a growing idea over the past year or so as I’ve had the absolute gift of listening to pet parents’ fan-favourite the Pawsitive pets on our socials; I think everyone has a secret favorite that they would love to meet and give a big squish!

Considering this and the coming spring, we would like to organize a free pet-pawrent park crawl and mixer at Hillcrest for an hour or so on April 30th, 2023 (weather permitting).

Parents with pups who enjoy company can bring them out for socializing and meet and greet, treats and playtime; those who may want to leave their four-legged introverts at home are still welcome to come to meet our other Pawsitive Pet parents!

Pawsitive Petcare Kris and Dan will be handing out compostable doggy bags, garbage bags and gloves to help clean up the winter run-off of poops, trash, and other garbage from our parks – let’s get our community ready for a season of fun and safe outdoor play, give back to the environment and help pet pawrents meet other pawrents for future playdates or support!

A slight increase to in-home nail trim prices will be applied starting April 2023.

Our former price of 20$ + HST will increase to 25$ + HST going forward. Please feel free to inquire about our monthly nail trim clinics if you would like to book and save; we realize this is not an option for all pets, and we hope to continue to bring you safe and professional in-home trims for the seniors, the skittish, and the simply-not-into-pet-carriers!

Kris and Dan will be away from the office for Friday, May 19th until Monday, May 22nd! As such, monthly clients will notice this day missing in their May invoices, and weekly clients will not be scheduled for these two dates. If you would require coverage during this time, please reach out to Kris, and they will try their best to accommodate in their absence!

Summer safety changes are just around the corner!

If this summer is anything like our last incredible two-month long heatwave, hour long walks will likely be shortened to half hours starting July 2023 until the end of August 2023. Walk length will be weather dependant come June/September, especially for larger/shorter coat pups. Please let us know in advance if you have any requests for summer safety re: length of walk time, apparel, changes to schedule or more.

We also encourage parents to leave a drying towel near to the door or pets’ items if you haven’t already – with mud season approaching fast, we aim to keep your paws, and your floors, clean!

Introducing Nail Trim Clinics by Pawsitive Petcare & the Doggos Toronto

This December 4th, partnered with the Doggos and Carmen Pet Photography, we will be hosting our first nail trim clinic in the St Clair West and Oakwood area. We hope to continue bringing nail trim clinics to our host space once monthly and eventually expand on locations throughout the city. Our first monthly clinic will also be a 

event, so bring your pup for a paw spa run by experienced, R+ groomers and stop by our photo booth for family festive seasonal photos!

for hosting Walk N’ Wags Pet First Aid course this Sunday November 13th! Pawsitive Petcare staff (and a few other pet professional pals!) opted to take this one-day course covering essential pet first aid care. Knowing helpful guidelines and recommendations from pet health professionals is a vital tool that all pet parents and professionals alike should equip themselves with, if possible, in cases as small as a cut quick to a larger emergency. The in-person lesson was interactive, informative, dog friendly and of course, super fun! If you get a chance, we highly recommend looking at online or in-person pet first aid courses in your own area – remember to check with your local pet groups or pet professionals if you have any questions! This time, we went with 

in Liberty Village. If you want to check them out, you can find them on Instagram @torontodogmoms for fun and helpful content, as well as pet first aid information.

We so appreciate everyone who pre-booked their winter holiday dog boarding or pet sits with us! We’re excited for holiday visits and boards, walks and more! Sadly, this does mean that our boarding requests are closed until the new year. While we are happy to offer reputable referrals, it is noted that most daycares and sitters tend to be booked by the first of December – and for a lot of us, as early as summertime! If you’re not sure of your winter plans, feel free to get in touch so we can send you in the right direction! We hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday!

It's hard to believe that our first year is already coming to a close. For those of us joining Pawsitive Petcare this January 2023, we can’t wait to share our second year with you and your furry family member! We hope your year has been as wonderful as it has been busy, with as many treats and naps as the more serious of the annual agenda, like squirrel hunting, or the dreaded business of observing Canada Post staff from one’s window.
